Season 2 Season 4

"Shower the People" is the fifteenth episode of the third season of Eureka.

Synopsis[]

Jack investigates the deaths of scientists who drowned in less than liquid circumstances. Meanwhile, Allison's baby shower goes very green.

Plot[]

Open with Tess telling Carter that Henry has broken protocol by taking "Kim" from the GD lab to Café Diem. The pair runs into Dr. Bruce Manlius, a former grad schoolteacher of Tess and Allison, in town to work on downloading "Kim."

Henry and "Kim" are bonding at the coffee shop over food smells. Zoe is upset she has to help organize Allison's baby shower with three of GD's infant development experts Drs. Monroe, Draper and Bell.

Bruce is treating "Kim" a little too much like a computer for Henry's comfort. Bruce is going to use radiation to duplicate "Kim's" data without damaging the original.

At the shower Allison gets a ton of super-high tech baby gifts self-adjusting t-shirts, etc. Everyone at the shower drinks mimosas out of self-sanitizing bottles.

The next morning Carter is crazy hung-over. He comes upon a vehicle on the side of the road. The interior of the car is filled with water and Dr. Monroe is drowned inside. No one is sure how she died. Fargo suggests it could have been the result of grant money jealousy.

Fargo suggests Dr. Draper killed Dr. Monroe, since Draper's research involved absorbency in diapers. Tess tells Allison that she has feelings for Carter and Allison doesn't seem too thrilled by the news.

Carter meets Draper at Café Diem. Draper, sweating profusely and chugging water, tells Carter she had nothing to do with Monroes death.

Bruce's laser seems to hurt "Kim" and Henry demands he shut it down. "Kim" tells Henry the process isn't working, and Henry thinks the radiation levels were too high.

Zoe opens the bathroom door at Café Diem and Draper falls out dead along with gallons of water. Fargo said Draper drowned as well. Carter suggests the water may have come from the women themselves, that their bodies were making extra water.

Allison tells Henry that "Kim's" reaction was due to her decaying, and they may only have a few hours before "Kim" is gone.

Fargo tests the water found inside the women and finds that it was Synthetic Water made by Dr. Rivers.

Rivers tells Carter her water is perfect and completely safe. Proving it by drinking a bunch of it from a water bottle.

At home SARAH notices Carter is going to the bathroom a lot and has elevated blood pressure. SARAH found no synthetic water in the food or beverages served at the party. He suggests that maybe the problem was with the self-sanitizing bottles before doubling over in pain.

It turns out Carter's lungs are fine, that he was simply suffering sympathy pains related to Allison's pregnancy. Carter wants everyone at the party tested for synthetic water.

Carter, Jo and Fargo examine a third drowning, this time the gym's cleaning attendant who did not go to the baby shower. This victim had synthetic water in her system.

Carter returns to GD to find Dr. Bell on life support. They caught her just before she would have drowned and are giving her artificial respiration.

Bruce tells Henry that "Kim's" organic tissue is breaking down and will soon disappear. He mentions they could dissolve in an acid solution, but Henry wants to look for another solution.

Carter tells Rivers her water is reacting poorly when in contact with human plasma. She is able to track where the synthetic water travels.

Henry's plan is to put "Kim" in a nutrient bath which will extract her data while simultaneously repairing her. Carter arrives and notices Bruce's work requires a hydroelectric cooling system. The nutrient bath doesn't work. Bruce convinces Henry that "Kim" is degrading, and they must sacrifice her to save her info. Henry speaks with "Kim" alone for a minute. Bruce tells Carter he uses synthetic water in his cooling tanks.

Rivers thinks the isotopes in her water could be affected by enough radiation. Looking at the tracking they see the water from Bruce's lab went to the gym where the cleaning attendant was killed.

"Kim" consoles Henry. She tells him that the real "Kim" will always be a part of him, and he must let her go.

Looking at the gym records, Carter and Jo see the women inhaled the synthetic water during a steam. Tess was also in the steam room. We cut to a soaking wet Tess collapsing in an elevator.

Carter manages to get into the elevator and saves Tess using mouth-to-mouth.

In the infirmary Fargo tells Cargo that Tess probably won't survive her condition. She inhaled too much synthetic water, and her organs may not last for the months it will take to dry her lungs.

"Kim" is dissolved in an acid bath as Henry is consoled by Allison and Carter. The process works and all of the data is saved. Carter has Bruce use the nutrient bath to try and release the synthetic water in Tess' system. The plan works, and Tess is saved.

Carter has a heart-to-heart with Allison, thanking her for allowing him to be part of the process. She tells him a high-tech baby monitor accidentally connected them, which is why he was having the sympathy pains. She sends him off to be with Tess.

Tess kisses Carter after inviting him to another meteor shower.
